Hedra ArticlesMarch 2008 Sharing a Special Reiki II Class by Diana Lynn Countryman Siderides For three people who had taken an off-site Reiki I class from me last year and who traveled to Idaho along with another person from Boise to learn Reiki II, this class was really special. Already “energized” from the start; it seemed the Warm Fuzzy Center (WFC) had something ‘special’ for this group of people. My Australian Shepherd, Nakota, who normally comes in the first day to observe the people and then leaves, stayed in class both days as he knew secretly what was to unfold. He seemed very interested in what was taking place with each of the students as they were experiencing the powers of Reiki II. If you were observing Nakota as I was throughout the class, I would have suspected that something was going to happen, I just didn’t know what. We all went to lunch and everyone was talking and I heard something from the couple from Indiana saying that their older cat had run away and was now missing, and my mind reached out to the cat to give it some Reiki energies and I let it go. When we got back from lunch Nakota wanted back inside the Center and I noted that Nakota was really absorbed in these people. He generally would lie in the middle of the WFC and watch each of the people as if he was taking mental notes; this time was to be different. As I worked with each of the people individually Nakota would accompany me, staying less than 2 minutes and would walk back out to the big room. When I worked with the last person, Nakota came in, lay down and refused to leave. As I was working with this man, I asked Nakota to move, and he refused. I then watched as Nakota laid down on his side, stretched fully out and acted like he was going to go to sleep, his breathing had slowed down. As I was finishing up Nakota told me, he was leaving his body so that this man’s lost cat could come in using Nakota’s body and talk to him. I realized that Nakota and the cat had already dialoged between themselves and Nakota was honoring the cat by vacating his own body for ‘this man and his cat’ to share their thoughts! The room was electrified as Nakota left his body and this man was moved very powerfully through his emotions and the cat’s “spirits” as they co-mingled through the use of Nakota’s body. It was very moving and beautiful to have been done at that time; all of my hairs on my arms and the back of my neck were standing up and quivering. I knew the cat was telling this man many private thoughts centering on Unconditional Love. When the man stood back up as he had been sitting next to Nakota, he was shaken and energized from the ‘sharing’ with his cat. As he was stroking Nakota from the back of the head down to the shoulder, he was aware that he was actually stroking his cat. At that point Nakota came back into his body as the cat left and Nakota was disoriented for a few minutes as he realized what had just happened. When we went back out to the main part of the Center, I shared with the other students what had taken place and I am still awed by this beautiful gift that was given to one and all. This would have normally been a huge extra for this Class, but Mother Nature had not given her gift yet. Note: I always ask the “wildlife” to come to my students and present themselves in some unique way and 98% of the time something special does happen. And this day was no different; we were on a ‘break’ when I looked out one of the windows facing west, when I saw one deer run past. I asked everyone to come over and give the deer some Reiki, two more deer ran by and then we could see that they seemed to be playing a game of sorts, where one deer was chasing another and then several deer were chasing others. In all there were 12 deer playing for over 20 minutes and this was their Gift to my Reiki students! Go in a good way. . .
