WHY I CHOSE A “TRADITIONAL TEACHER”
There is a great saying: “When the student is ready the teacher will
present himself."
In my case that is exactly what happened, except in this case it was
a she. At the time I was in search of an animal communicator and
Diana Siderides was referred to me. In the process of working with
Diana our discussions lead to her asking if I was familiar with
Reiki. I admitted I had heard of Reiki but I did not know what it
was. Immediately Diana offered a brief Reiki session as an
introduction to this amazing gift. That was one of those experiences
where words fall short to define. Instantly, I had to know more and
this was definitely the case of teacher presenting herself to the
ready student.
Diana's classroom setting is beautiful and intimate. She
intentionally limits the number of students in every class so that
each student can receive individual attention and have time for
questions and personal instruction. Students learn how to be a
conduit of the Reiki energy to the recipients (clients). The
recipient may simply just feel better (although actual energy
healing is taking place). Reiki works directly on the affected areas
of an individual’s energy field charging them with positive energy.
This raises the vibratory level of the energy field-in and around
the physical body where the negative energies are attached. This
causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away allowing the
positive aspects of Reiki to flow and assist the individual to heal
in a healthy and natural way.
Reiki consists of three levels, Reiki I, Reiki II and Reiki III or
the Master level. The progression goes from learning the “hands on”
approach to the applications of distant healing. The overall course
is designed in such a manner that the student has a clear
understanding of each level before proceeding on to the next. Time
and experience are needed. Like most true professions, this art
cannot be achieved in a day’s worth of training. Each time the
student uses Reiki their foundation is broadened. In addition, each
Reiki practitioner acquires a direct connection to the lineage and
energies of the Three Grand Masters. The teachings also cover how
extensive the use of Reiki can be. Since all material things are
composed of energy, Reiki can affect all matter.
In class listening to the history of Reiki and how this hand’s on
healing technique came to America by way of Mrs. Hawayo Takata is
intriguing. The student learns that Diana was taught directly by the
last Traditional Grand Reiki Master herself, Mrs. Hawayo Takata!
Diana also shares how her life has been interwoven with the power of
Reiki with amazing examples of real life experiences. What I found
to be important is Diana's “pedigree”, her lengthy experience and
the knowledge from being a student from the “best traditional
teacher.”
Diana has applied her extensive knowledge and experience with Reiki
to rehabbing Raptors from 1985 to 2005 as well as teaching Reiki
since 1995. Diana’s direct connection to one of the three Grand
Master Reiki teachers, Mrs. Hawayo Takata, plays an important factor
in the approach Diana takes to teaching Reiki. Mrs. Takata received
her training from Grand Master Dr. Hayashi in Japan during the 30’s.
The ancient and original traditions are carried on through these
teachings.
Reiki is for helping people and all of life’s forms regardless of
the ailments. Or it could be used to just energize your body’s
energy field relieving daily stresses. Are you the student who has
been waiting for your teacher?
